Gout has struck. It's already chronic, so I've only had slight discomfort and limped occasionally, but this time it seems to have hit hard enough that I need to go to the hospital. This happens once or twice a year. But when I told her I was in pain, my wife's first words were that she was annoyed. Even if she has to watch both kids all weekend, is her first reaction to say she's annoyed instead of asking if I'm okay? For the past 8 years, I've been the primary caregiver, even taking parental leave, and I cook dinner every weekday...
