One pack has 200 sheets. Although it says 1000 sheets, it's calculated as 5 layers x 5 sheets per pull, so it's actually only 200 pulls. However, at 23 NTD per pack, it's still decent. The paper size is a bit smaller than regular facial tissues, but it's sufficient for bathroom use or wiping tables.

This ocean sunfish weighed a whopping 2744 kg, nearly as much as a white rhino! In 2021, researchers found a dead, giant ocean sunfish off the coast of the Azores. After dragging it ashore for measurements, it was confirmed that this behemoth had broken the record for the heaviest bony fish in the world, weighing nearly 454 kg more than the previous record holder. Even more surprising, it had extensive bruising on its head, and fragments of anti-fouling paint commonly used on ships were found in the wound. Researchers therefore speculated that it might have died from a ship collision, but could not confirm whether the collision occurred before or after its death. #OceanSunfish #JournalOfFishBiology #LargestBonyFish

In the misty forests of Taiwan's mid-elevation mountains, there lives a 'white elf' that is entirely white. During summer afternoons, mountain areas between 1500 and 2500 meters above sea level are often shrouded in clouds and fog, with abundant rainfall. On cool, humid nights in the mid-elevation southwestern mountains, the *Aegista lin(i)* snail extends its foot longer than usual and slowly yet agilely climbs up to the canopy of Machilus thunbergii trees, reaching up to 6 meters high, moving through the fog-filled forest. This snail, officially described in 2008, carries a conical shell and is pure white all over, truly resembling an elf living in the deep mountain mist. #Snail #Aegista_lini #Arboreal_snail #Cheng-Lun_Wu

‘Resident Evil’ Live-Action Movie Finally Redeems Itself! Rotten Tomatoes Score of 97% Sets Highest Rating in Live-Action Series History The new live-action ‘Resident Evil’ movie, directed by Zach Cregger of ‘Barbarian’ and ‘We Are Zombies’ fame, has been released in Taiwan and will premiere in North America on September 18th. Currently, it has garnered 86 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, achieving a fresh rating of 97%, far surpassing all previous live-action movie versions and temporarily holding the highest score in the series' history! This film does not directly recreate the plot of any specific game. Instead, it centers on a medical courier named Brian, depicting the terrifying night he gets caught up in a virus outbreak and monster attacks while on a delivery to Raccoon City. Initial reviews generally praise the film for successfully capturing the tension of playing ‘Resident Evil,’ and for embedding numerous game Easter eggs within the scenes, monsters, and performances. Even those unfamiliar with the original work can understand it, and series fans will find plenty of familiar details to discover. Rotten Tomatoes even described it as, ‘Not just the best ‘Resident Evil’ movie, but one of the best video game adaptation films in cinema history.’ Will this finally be the chance to wash away the long-standing poor reputation of ‘Resident Evil’ live-action movies? 🧟 ※ Rotten Tomatoes score as of September 17th; may change with new reviews.

57,000-Year-Old Wolf Pup Mummy Unearthed in Yukon Permafrost In 2016, a Yukon gold miner in Canada accidentally discovered this exceptionally well-preserved female subadult wolf while blasting permafrost with a water cannon. Named 'Zhur' by the local Tr’ondëk Hwëch’in First Nation, it is one of the oldest and most complete wolf mummies ever found.

Really delicious, highly recommend. It's unsweetened but has a rich and smooth tea aroma. You can find it at FamilyMart, Lawson, PX Mart, and Costco.

This cute little creature is a successfully hatched giant salamander 👀 Currently, 5 species of giant salamanders are known in Taiwan, all of which are endemic. Some might think they'll never have anything to do with giant salamanders living in remote mountain streams, but we actually live in a shared ecosystem. The headwaters where they live are the source of all lowland streams; protecting the giant salamanders means protecting the water source, which in turn protects all life that uses this water. 📝 This month's magazine features a special report on giant salamanders, with content from Taiwanese contributing writers and photographers who visited and photographed them on-site.
