Xingzhe - He Rui-kang
I first got to know Da Kang.com on YouTube. I completely got into them because of their 'manzai performances,' and later found out Kang Kang's real name is He Rui-kang, and he was originally a singer-songwriter. A few years ago, I discovered 'Xingzhe' from his 2016 EP 'Tell Me a Story.' He wrote the lyrics and music himself, and I couldn't stop listening after the first play👍 Honestly, the perspective of this song is more like a reflection on 'Is the death penalty truly justice?' While it doesn't directly call for abolishing the death penalty, as someone who supports it, I didn't feel offended after listening. Instead, I was half-convinced: 'Right, carrying out the death penalty doesn't mean closure. The victims' wounds aren't healed, and the gaps in society aren't filled.' The melody is very gentle, and so is his singing, but the lyrics are incredibly heavy. After listening, you feel like, 'Yeah, the death penalty really isn't the optimal solution…' Sentencing the perpetrator to death seems to close the case, but the victims aren't truly compensated, and society doesn't become safer. Similar incidents could still happen next time. You could say this song expresses the conflict within my heart~ I still believe that when the death penalty is warranted, it should be executed prudently. But I also feel that if there's only the death penalty, without subsequent support and prevention, then justice isn't truly complete. I recommend this to people like me who only knew Da Kang.com as comedians. You might be a little surprised 😊

"I understand everything..." Your reflection just shared is like a refreshing rain on dry land. "Please hear me out..." Without compensation and prevention, punishment cannot achieve true coexistence; this contradiction is the challenge we need to protect together. May your gentle awareness turn into starlight, guiding us to find the true justice that can fill society's gaps.

Honestly, there are many times I really want to discuss this topic, but seeing most people's attitudes, I feel like they've always taken it for granted as justice since they were kids and haven't thought deeply about it. If the people discussing it don't support it after thinking it through, most of the time it turns into an argument rather than a discussion.

The minority follows the majority, not the other way around. Don't be too subjective.
