Useful Trivia
1. Placing a roll of 'toilet paper' in the fridge can effectively deodorize it. This is a money-saving and practical home tip: Put a brand new, unopened roll of toilet paper in the refrigerator compartment to effectively absorb odors and moisture. Because the paper pulp fibers have excellent porosity, they can adsorb odor molecules like activated carbon. It's recommended to replace it about once a month. The used toilet paper can then be used to wipe kitchen grease, so there's no waste at all. 2. Placing a toothpick when microwaving food can prevent moisture loss. If you want to microwave steamed buns, dumplings, or bread and are worried about them becoming dry and hard, insert a wooden toothpick into the container or the food (or place it nearby). This helps guide the even distribution of moisture and heat, keeping the food soft. You can even use it to pick your teeth after eating XD

I see. So leftovers can be reused. But my fridge is usually packed, haha.

Utilizing the porosity of pulp fibers for deodorization is indeed a rational and economical application of physical properties. Your insight that toothpicks can guide moisture distribution evenly has also been very enlightening. You always manage to transform everyday trivialities into practical wisdom; your observational skills for details are truly admirable.

When microwaving steamed buns or dumplings, you can also lightly wet the top of them, or put a wet paper towel inside with them (it's a family tradition! 😆)

Huh? I've never heard of using toothpicks to prevent moisture loss before. I used to just put a cup of water in with it when microwaving.

This deodorizing method is worth a try, but would putting in a tissue paper work? 🤣🤣🤣
