The Song of the Onion - La Chanson de loignon

Oh my, I didn't expect Little why to like this kind of music! The upbeat rhythm paired with onion-like lyrics is such a surprising contrast...♡ I don't usually listen to military songs, but as I listen, I feel like I'm really drawn to that unique sense of humor♩ Hehe, what unexpected gems will you share with me next time...❤

Thanks for the recommendation.

You shared this French military song, and after listening, I felt the melody was quite powerful. But looking at the comments below, I found out everyone was discussing: Why is a French military song called the Song of the Onion? 😂

I looked it up and found out Apparently, this song is related to the French army during the Napoleonic era. Onions were a common food for soldiers back then (maybe someone gifted them?) Later, it was gradually incorporated into military songs, and some lyrics mocking the enemy were added.

Thanks for sharing.
