YOASOBI - Blessing

Artist: YOASOBI Song Title: Blessing (祝福) Lyrics/Composition: Ayase Release Date: October 1, 2022 Album: THE BOOK 3 Recommended Listen: https://youtu.be/KPK23K7ipVo?si=EwGSZDOKYb1IX8h7&t=215 This is the opening theme song for the first season of the anime "Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury" (機動戦士ガンダム 水星の魔女). It was a hit single for YOASOBI before their mega-hit "Idol." Although the alternate version of "Blessing" used in the final episode of the first season became a meme when paired with the story, leading YOASOBI to tweet about it... (no spoilers), the second season's finale brought back "Blessing" as the ending theme, nicely tying back to the title. It's a Gundam series with innovative style. I particularly love the final lyrics: 「この星に生まれたこと，この世界で生き続けること，その全てを愛せる様に，目一杯の祝福を君に。」 Which roughly translates to: "May you be able to love the star you were born on, and everything about continuing to live in this world; I send you my utmost blessings." Listening to it directly, it's the standard YOASOBI style, but paired with the story, it evokes different emotions. I've chosen the live concert version, so enjoy ikura's performance and expressions. 😍

Thanks for sharing~~ Playing YOASOBI's full album in the car is truly never gets old. It always energizes me and gives me a thrilling feeling. This song's melody has an electronic vibe and feels lively, but I didn't expect the lyrics to have so much deep meaning! Also, I agree with you about Ikura's facial expressions while singing being great~ I hope they stay active for a very, very long time~!
