Stole Money

I can't even imagine a criminal case happening around me. A colleague, who was a really nice person, got into a car accident and was hospitalized with broken ribs. The company didn't get the keys back in time. We heard he'd be discharged at the end of the month and were all happy and waiting for him. Then, the next news we heard was that company money was stolen. When we checked the surveillance footage, it turned out to be that colleague. He had borrowed from loan sharks and apparently, he had already been discharged from the hospital at some point, used the keys to open the door, and stole the money. I just want to say, I don't understand why he didn't sue the boss first for not having labor and health insurance, only group insurance. If he couldn't win the lawsuit, then he could borrow money. Although our boss is so despicable, I doubt he would lose. But I heard he also has diabetes or something, which I guess isn't covered by insurance? If he was really desperate for money, I guess I could understand. Though I'm curious where he found loan sharks, as they don't usually appear around me.
