On September 28, 1898, Empress Dowager Cixi launched the Wuxu Coup, just over a hundred days after the Hundred Days' Reform began. She first abolished all reforms, imprisoned Emperor Guangxu, and without trial, executed six reformist figures: Kang Guangren, Yang Shenxiu, Yang Rui, Lin Xu, Tan Sitong, and Liu Guangdi. These six are also known as the 'Six Gentlemen of the Wuxu Coup'. [Playio] On This Day: September 28th https://link.playio.co/il9kcp
