October 2026 New Anime Watchlist | "To the Faraway"

The original work is a shojo manga by Kyoko Hikawa, which has concluded (serialized from 1991 to 2002). This is the first anime adaptation, and it will be fully supervised by the original author, Kyoko Hikawa. It's scheduled to air on October 5th, and Bahamut Animation Bon has announced that they have licensed it. The story follows ordinary high school student Noriko Tachibana, who one day gets caught in an explosion. When she wakes up, she finds herself in a completely unfamiliar other world. Unable to even understand the language, she meets a taciturn and mysterious young man named Izak and embarks on a journey under his protection. However, Noriko's arrival is not a coincidence, and she and Izak gradually get drawn into a great vortex related to the fate of the world. I haven't read the original work, but I think the setting where they can't communicate after transmigrating is quite realistic! 😆 Many isekai works nowadays come with a built-in translation function or simply skip the language barrier, so it seems interesting that a new anime starts from a point of complete communication breakdown and gradually learns the language of the other world. 🤣 While I'm not particularly fond of older art styles, the story setting I've seen so far is quite appealing, and with the original author supervising the entire series, I think it's something to look forward to! 😁
