YOASOBI - Seventeen

Artist: YOASOBI Song Title: Seventeen (セブンティーン) Lyrics/Composition: Ayase Release Date: March 27, 2023 Album: THE BOOK 3 Lyrics Translation: https://www.marumaru-x.com/japanese-song/play-e4oy5yz0n3 Recommended Listen: https://youtu.be/0yoM7ETNPIY?si=9mrwRjndNhymhR5F&t=74 This is a special project song inspired by the novel 'Different Colored Playing Cards' (色違いのトランプ) by Naoki Prize-winning author Miyuki Miyabe. It's included in the book 'The First...' (はじめての), which features stories created by four authors—Rio Shimamoto, Mizuki Tsujimura, Miyuki Miyabe, and Eto Mori—all centered around the theme of 'first times.' Each story corresponds to one of four YOASOBI songs. While you can guess the general story structure by watching the MV, I won't spoil the details. I pulled Miyuki Miyabe's version from the collectible playlist card that came with the book, which was this song, 'Seventeen' (セブンティーン). It was like a sneak peek. Listening to it while reading the novel, I found myself humming it before I knew it. Paired with today's date 1️⃣7️⃣, I recommend it to friends who like YOASOBI.
