Snake Fun Facts

• Smelling with their tongue: When snakes flick their tongues (also called forking their tongue), they are collecting scent molecules from the air and sending them to the 'Jacobson's organ' in their mouth to determine direction and prey. • Hearing without external ears: Although snakes lack external ears, their lower jaw can be placed directly on the ground, allowing them to strongly sense vibrations from the ground to perceive their surroundings.
