Kogoro (along with Conan and Ran) is commissioned by the Torada family to investigate the death of Torada Yoshirou in Nagano. Meanwhile, Heiji and Kazuha are tasked by the Tatsuo family to investigate the kidnapping and murder of Tatsuo Kouji. The two families are rivals, and each suspects the other of being involved in their son's death. Conan and Heiji meet during their investigations and decide to cooperate to uncover the truth, but new murders occur one after another. The culprit uses Takeda Shingen's military strategy, 'Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan' (Wind, Forest, Fire, Mountain), as a clue, making the case more complex. The case involves the death of Kai Kuroto six years prior and a past event that several members of the Torada and Tatsuo families have been concealing together. Furthermore, the serial murders are not simply a feud between the two families, but are related to the events of that time and the cover-up of the truth. This case also features Inspector Yamato, who had been missing for a long time, and his former subordinate Uehara (the two are childhood friends). Their romantic story was detailed in the movie 'The Private Eyes' Requiem,' and they also appeared in the movie 'Quarter of Silence.' I found the character relationships in this case a bit complicated, and halfway through, I started wondering who was related to whom and who was being talked about. However, the overall plot structure was quite good. But the culprit's behavior was so suspicious that I guessed it was him from the beginning.
