2026 Taoyuan Shopping Festival Officially Kicks Off on August 1st
Could the cost of a chicken leg bento box potentially let you achieve financial freedom early? A 'city-wide invoice frenzy' epic battle is about to unfold in Taoyuan this August. The best part? The entry barrier is incredibly low. With just a few coins, you could win a grand prize in the tens of millions! The '2026 Taoyuan Shopping Festival' officially kicks off on August 1st! This year's total prize value is over 20 million NTD, but there's a 'super important point' you need to highlight before jumping in. This year is different from previous years: the official website will no longer accept invoice registrations! The Economic Development Bureau specifically reminds everyone: 'This year's mechanism has been fully upgraded. To participate in the event, you must register through the 'Taoyuan Citizen Card APP'.' This means the smart move is to download the app right now. Once August 1st arrives, whether you're buying bubble tea, late-night snacks, or filling up your scooter, if your invoice is over 100 NTD, scan it immediately to secure your spot! Every 100 NTD spent earns you an extra chance, so the more you spend, the more chances you get. Looking at the prize list will surely make you smile: 💰 Daily draw for 10,000 NTD cash 🎟️ Weekly giveaway of 15,000 NTD gift certificates 🚗 Monthly lucky draw for a new car 👑 The grand finale is a massive 10,000,000 NTD cash prize! If you think that's all, you're underestimating the firepower this event packs. In conjunction with the autumn '2026 Taiwan Design Expo', spending in Taoyuan between 9/24 and 10/11 will also give you a chance to win a 'Taoyuan-Japan round-trip flight + hotel package'!

Really sped to happiness
A fine of NT$24,000, plus a 12-month license plate suspension. This driver surnamed Wan from Taichung perfectly demonstrated what it means to treat the highway like their personal racetrack, and then tried to fool the judge in court like a three-year-old. The incident occurred around 10 PM on February 11, 2025. Mr. Wan was driving his car, speeding along National Freeway No. 6 from east to west. At 10:28 PM, he was captured by police laser speed detection equipment at the 3.4 km mark on the westbound lane, traveling at a staggering 145 km/h. The speed limit on Freeway No. 6 is 100 km/h, meaning he was speeding by 45 km/h. Did you think he would slow down after being caught? Nope. Just 4 minutes later, he merged onto National Freeway No. 3 to continue his personal Grand Prix. At the 210.9 km mark on the northbound lane of Freeway No. 3, he was again clocked by police at a blazing 157 km/h. The speed limit on Freeway No. 3 is 110 km/h, so he was speeding by another 47 km/h. Twice exceeding the speed limit by over 40 km/h within a mere 240 seconds, turning the highway into a scene from a Fast & Furious movie. The Taichung City Traffic Adjudication Office didn't waste any time. According to Article 43 of the Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act, they issued four adjudication notices. For speeding between 40 and 60 km/h over the limit, two fines of NT$12,000 each were issued, totaling NT$24,000, along with mandatory traffic safety lectures. The other two notices were for the suspension of the vehicle's license plates for six months each.

Players Devastated! Mobile Game Company Shuts Down Without Warning, In-Game Purchases Non-Refundable
Players Devastated! Mobile Game Company Shuts Down Without Warning, In-Game Purchases Non-Refundable #PuddingEditor: My hard-earned cash is gone! Isn't this always the case? I haven't played mobile games in ages! This one started in 2017! At least it lasted almost 10 years, which is pretty good! There are tons of trash mobile games in Taiwan that shut down in less than 2 years! As for no refunds, that's a domestic Japanese issue. For mobile games in Taiwan, they have to announce service termination half a year in advance. Most purchases made at that time can be refunded, but it's not possible if too much time has passed.

One China?
Actually, the term 'Chinese nation' didn't exist in ancient times either. It was invented by Liang Qichao in the late Qing Dynasty. The word 'China' also didn't exist in ancient times, and there's no single China spanning 5,000 years that has 'owned' Taiwan since ancient times. 👍 China is only 76 years old, the Qing Dynasty was over 200 years, Taiwan 115 years... All so-called Chinese people worldwide are older than China. We Taiwanese are not a part of them. If they insist on calling us a province of theirs, let's be clear: don't be Chinese. Are you still living in ancient times? Still talking about ethnicity? Hilarious! You don't even know how much you've mixed, maybe you even have alien blood! Most Taiwanese have Taiwanese indigenous blood. If we're talking about ethnicity, we are all Taiwanese indigenous people!

Should I quit my job or not?
Many people get stuck on this question because they think they only have two options: 'leave or stay'. When there are only two options in front of you, every decision feels like a loss. Let's use one method to first #turn a multiple-choice question into a single-choice one! 📍 You can start by using the 'Map Unfolding' strategy: Re-evaluate your possibilities along the three axes of company, industry, and time. Once the map is unfolded, you'll discover: You can switch departments, change your skills, alter your approach, or even switch career paths. What were originally just 2 options, 'leave or stay', can suddenly extend to over 10 possibilities. But what if you've unfolded the map and still can't find your direction? The problem you need to solve first might not be about quitting, but about finding the reason: 📍 Wrong Direction: You work hard every day, but the more you do, the less passionate you become. → Use the 'CH2 Keyword Strategy' to find the direction you truly want to invest in. 📍 Wrong Environment: Your skills are fine, but your current position doesn't allow you to leverage your value. → Use the 'CH3 Stamp Card Strategy' to determine which options can better accumulate your future career assets. 📍 Efforts Go Unnoticed: You do a lot, but you never seem to get promoted or have more opportunities. → Use the 'CH4 Achievement Unlocked Strategy' to make your accomplishments a leverage for promotion, raises, and more opportunities. Don't rush to seek answers from others, but #clarify the problem with yourself first. Because every career dilemma that makes you 'want to quit' has a different way of being assessed.

A large open space hidden above the National Freeway No. 3 tunnel?
A large open space hidden above the National Freeway No. 3 tunnel? 😱 Daxi residents now have a brand new spot for weekend outings! The previously vacant softball field has been completely transformed into the expansive 'Indigenous Peoples Theme Park Phase 2' 🏕️ When you drive through the Puding Tunnel on National Freeway No. 3, you might not have noticed that there's actually a hidden world 'above your head.' This site used to be a disused softball field. After about a year of construction and an investment of 20 million NTD, it has recently officially opened, completing the final piece of the Daxi Puding Green Corridor. According to the Taoyuan City Government, the completed Phase 2 project focuses on 'open lawns and multi-functional activity spaces.' When combined with the Phase 1 area opened three years ago, the entire recreational pathway now connects the surrounding croquet field, roller skating rink, Puding Park, and library, essentially forming a massive leisure platform. In addition to the existing circular walking paths, rest benches, and night lighting, the park's evolution isn't over yet. The authorities have announced that they have secured approximately 10 million NTD in funding from the Council of Indigenous Peoples to plan for dedicated 'Indigenous cultural symbolic art installations,' aiming to maximize the cultural characteristics and recognition of this area. For local residents, finding a place for kids to run around on weekends or taking a leisurely walk with the dog after a meal, the worst is encountering a half-baked park with missing facilities. Now that this entire recreational corridor is connected, it's like being able to stroll through a night market from end to end without constantly crossing roads. The convenience of the space has tangibly improved.

Nostalgic!
Does anyone else remember 'Golden Partners'? When I was a kid, I'd always be glued to the TV every Saturday waiting for 'Golden Partners'. The memory of the whole family watching the show together is something I'll never forget. I recently rewatched some clips online and realized how amazing they were. Not only was their hosting top-notch, but more importantly, they interacted so naturally with the live audience, making the whole atmosphere lively and fun. It's still incredibly entertaining to watch. However, the person I feel most regretful about is Ni Min-nan. I learned from the news later that after the show ended, he waited at home for someone to invite him back to a program, and he waited for ten years. Seeing that story really made me emotional. Sometimes I wonder, if he had lived to see this internet era, with the rise of YouTube and self-media, perhaps he would have had another stage to shine on. It's truly a shame. 'Golden Partners' accompanied many people's childhoods and is a shared memory for many. Did you also used to wait for 'Golden Partners' on TV every Saturday? Who was your favorite host?
