Keelung Secret Base
A day trip to Qidong Malingkeng + Nuandong Gorge is absolutely divine! There's stream water to wade in, a gorge slide for the kids to burn off energy, and you can take epic wasteland ruin shots at the Japanese-era charcoal kiln and Fuhai Fault Bridge.

Shoushan Zoo
I was binge-watching dramas recently and saw one starring Shao Yu-wei set in a zoo. My wife, who's really scared of animals, decided to be brave after watching the show. Sure enough, at the entrance, there were Taiwanese macaques demanding a toll. My wife had already mentally rehearsed countless ways to fend off the monkeys and protect our daughter. We had a great time exploring and nothing happened. We even saw all the star animals from the drama. Just didn't see Zhu Xin-kui and Su Guan-zhou working hard!

Chiayi Shuishang | Pin Huang Coffee Tourist Factory
I originally just wanted to look around, but as soon as I entered, I was captivated by the story of coffee! At the entrance, there are introductions and interactive experiences related to coffee, allowing you to learn about coffee origins, knowledge, and the production process. The coffee I drink every day suddenly felt like it had more story and warmth. Then, entering the store, it's a true 'coffee lover's paradise'. You can sample various coffee flavors for free, allowing you to drink slowly, compare, and find your favorite taste. If you're bringing small children, don't worry too much. If you don't mind, you can let the kids drink milk tea while the adults enjoy coffee, and the children can have their own little happiness. Besides coffee, there are also some biscuits to try. Wandering, drinking, eating, and choosing makes the whole afternoon feel blissful. Here's a little tip I want to share: don't eat too much for lunch! I recommend coming in the afternoon and leaving some room to eat and drink your way through, which will give you a stronger feeling of 'I came to the right place'. And the most magical thing is— I initially thought, 'I'm just here to look,' but after drinking and eating, I inexplicably found several items in my shopping basket. 'This is delicious, buy it!' 'That one is good too, I'll take it home!' After eating and drinking to my heart's content, it felt like I was suddenly under a shopping spell. 📍Pin Huang Coffee Tourist Factory No. 155, Dalun, Shuishang Township, Chiayi County If you happen to be traveling in Chiayi, love coffee and snacks, or are looking for a place to relax and browse, consider stopping by. You can hear stories about coffee, taste it on-site, eat and drink, and finally leave with your hands full. This little trip was truly satisfying!

Juan Mu Forest Life Museum (Factory Tour)
There's a magical forest and an artisan workshop with little elves, a tree grandpa, and a deer teacher, waiting for you to take photos, play games, learn knowledge, and get gifts. There's also a hands-on experience with wooden toys, perfect for adults and children to enjoy together. If you like it, you can purchase items at the gift shop. There's also a cafe where you can have afternoon tea while assembling the wooden toys you just bought. My kids really love wooden toys, so he liked everything.

Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum in Kaohsiung
When you come to Dashu District in Kaohsiung, besides Fo Guang Shan, there's another place worth adding to your itinerary – the Buddha Museum. Stepping into the Buddha Museum, the most impressive aspect is the expansive and solemn landscape. Walking from the entrance along the Avenue of Enlightenment, eight pagodas are neatly arranged on both sides. In the distance, at the very back, stands the magnificent Fo Guang Grand Buddha, creating a truly spectacular vista. The Buddha Museum was built in 2011, primarily to enshrine the Buddha's sarira. It has since gradually developed into a cultural complex integrating Buddhist culture, art, history, education, and leisure. Besides precious Buddhist artifacts, the museum also hosts numerous exhibitions and cultural events, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of Buddhist art and humanistic stories. I think this place is especially suitable for families. Even with children, you don't necessarily need to know a lot about Buddhism. You can start learning about different cultures through the architecture, sculptures, exhibitions, and the scenery of the park. The park is very spacious, allowing you to slow down and not rush between attractions. In addition to visiting the indoor exhibits, there are also places within the park suitable for resting and dining, and the overall environment is clean and comfortable. On a sunny day, walking along the Avenue of Enlightenment, looking at the blue sky, the pagodas, and the Grand Buddha in the distance, you'll feel a sense of peace settling in. Sometimes, a trip doesn't need to be packed with attractions. Finding a comfortable spot, walking with your family, enjoying the scenery, and chatting can be precious family time. If you're traveling to Kaohsiung, consider adding the Buddha Museum to your itinerary, giving yourself and your family a chance to slow down, connect with culture, and let your minds find some tranquility.
