9/25 Mid-Autumn Full Moon

Mid-Autumn Full Moon (Refers to the night of the 15th to 16th day of the 8th lunar month, around the autumnal equinox, which is the full moon night. This year it's 9/25. By the way, the night before is called 'Machiyo' and the night after is called 'Izayoi'. It's sometimes called 'Butsumei Meigetsu' because it always falls on 'Butsumetsu' (a particularly unlucky day in the Japanese calendar), and in English-speaking countries, it might be called the 'Harvest Moon'.)

9/24 Tatami Day

Tatami Day (Designated because 9/24 is "Cleaning Day." Also, April 29th, "Greenery Day," is also considered Tatami Day due to its color. Established to promote the excellence of tatami as a housing material and floor covering. The word "tatami" is said to originate from the verb "tatamu" (to fold), as they were originally thin mats like "mushiro," "goza," or "komo," which were folded when not in use. Their current form, laid out to cover the floor, dates back to the Muromachi and Kamakura periods.)

Neptune Day - 9/23

Neptune Day (On this day in 1846, Johann Galle at the Berlin Observatory, using calculations by French mathematician Urbain Le Verrier, discovered Neptune at the predicted location. British mathematician John Couch Adams had also independently calculated the location, and now all three are credited as discoverers. It cannot be observed with the naked eye and is the only planet in our solar system discovered through mathematical prediction, based on irregularities in Uranus's orbit. It orbits the outermost region of the solar system over approximately 165 years, and its name comes from the Roman god of the sea, 'Neptunus'.)

9/23 Angelique!

32 years ago today, the first Angelique was released. I didn't realize the original didn't have voice acting... (well, that makes sense) The first time I ever played this series was on the PS version, 'Angelique Duet'. I remember being a bit embarrassed and playing it secretly at night, hiding it from my parents. Wow, so nostalgic lol My favorite was the Dark Guardian, Clavis. We're both Scorpios, so our affection level was high from the start~ To all fellow Angelique fans, who was your favorite?

World Rhino Day (Proposed by the World Wildlife Fund in 2010 to advocate for the protection of the five species of rhinos living in the world: the black rhino, white rhino, Indian rhino, Javan rhino, and Sumatran rhino. Rhino horns are prized in China as traditional medicine and in the Middle East for dagger handles and crafts, trading at higher prices than cocaine, heroin, or gold. All five species are currently endangered.)

9/21 Respect for the Aged Day

Respect for the Aged Day (It's said to have originated when the village head of Nomatani Village in Hyogo Prefecture established 'Old People's Day' on September 15th, during the farming off-season, and held a 'Respect for the Aged Ceremony,' with the aim of respecting the elderly and borrowing their wisdom for village development. Later, due to revisions in the 'Public Holiday Act,' it became the third Monday of September.)

This is the day in 1911 when the Yamada-shiki airship, developed by Inzaburo Yamada, succeeded in flying around Tokyo in one hour.)

The purpose is to raise awareness about the need for red panda conservation and their current situation in the wild. They were once called "Panda" or "Xiongmao" (熊猫), but after the discovery of the giant panda, they came to be referred to as "Lesser Panda" or "Red Panda," and "Xiaoxiongmao" (小熊猫). Currently, red pandas are classified under the Ailuridae family (closer to weasels), while giant pandas are in the Ursidae family (bears).

9/18 The Day Organized Education for the Visually Impaired First Began in the World

The day organized education for the visually impaired first began in the world. (Sugiyama Waichi, the highest-ranking official of the visually impaired self-governing organization, opened a private school to teach "Kanshinjutsu," a needle technique that could be inserted without pain, to the visually impaired. This school was officially recognized by the Shogunate on this day. This "Acupuncture Training Institute" was established more than 100 years earlier than the French institute for the blind, which was recognized as the world's first in 1784.)
