The Sailing Cat Who Traveled Around Australia with Its Master 🐱⛵
Around 1799, a kitten named Trim was born aboard a British Royal Navy ship. As a ship's cat, Trim wasn't just responsible for catching mice; it adapted remarkably well to life at sea, skillfully navigating the ship by climbing ropes. Later, it accompanied its master, the navigator Matthew Flinders, on a surveying expedition of the Australian coast and completed a circumnavigation of Australia by sea, becoming the first recorded cat to do so 🐱🌏 Think that's legendary enough? After the voyage, Trim and its master survived a shipwreck. After narrowly escaping, their master was detained by the French in Mauritius during the Napoleonic Wars while en route back to England. Trim: 'Alright, I'll go too.' 🐱 Tragically, Trim later went missing in Mauritius and never returned. Flinders missed the cat dearly and even wrote a biographical eulogy specifically for Trim, diligently documenting the little companion's personality. It even fairly pointed out Trim's flaws— It was extremely proud of its appearance. ...The owner even recorded a cat's narcissism in history 🤣 Today, a bronze statue of Trim stands outside the State Library of New South Wales in Sydney. Born on a ship, circumnavigated Australia, survived a shipwreck and detention, and ultimately got its own biography and statue. This cat's life was more extraordinary than many humans' 🐱⛵

Actual Age vs. Korean Age, Which do you prefer?
The distinction between 'Korean age' (虛歲) and 'actual age' (實歲) stems from the difference between cultural traditions and modern scientific timekeeping, reflecting ancient people's unique perception of life's beginning and their ritualistic needs. Actual Age (周歲) Origin and Concept: Based on modern precise calendars and physiology, it calculates how long a person has truly lived. You are 0 years old at birth and only turn 1 year older after a full 365 days (after passing your birthday). Core Logic: Emphasizes the 'accumulation of time,' accurately recording the length of life. Korean Age (毛歲) Origin and Concept: Originated from traditional Chinese culture and the lunar calendar. Ancient people believed life began at the moment of conception (ten months of gestation), so a child was considered 1 year old at birth (representing approximately one year of life experience). Grows one year older at New Year: Korean age doesn't increase on your birthday but collectively on **Lunar New Year's Day (Seollal)**. This means even if a child is born on the day before Lunar New Year's Eve, they are considered 1 year old on the day of birth, and immediately become 2 years old on Lunar New Year's Day, the very next day. Core Logic: Emphasizes 'cosmic energy' and sequential ethics. Ancient people valued family order, zodiac year fortunes, and respectful address for elders. By collectively increasing Korean age at New Year, it was convenient for calculating annual fortunes and respecting the hierarchy of age. ------------------------ It's interesting how everyone collectively gets a year older on Lunar New Year. Someone born the day before Lunar New Year becomes two years old the next day, even if they've only lived for one day. Funny.

Long-Lived Cat 🐈🐈⬛
Currently recognized by Guinness World Records as the longest-living cat ever is a female cat named Creme Puff from Texas, USA. She was born on August 3, 1967, and passed away on August 6, 2005— Living a total of 38 years and 3 days! 😳 Even more amazing is that her owner, Jake Perry, had another cat named Grandpa Rex Allen who lived to be about 34 years old and was previously the record holder for the longest-living cat. Wait, the same person consecutively owned two cats over 30 years old??? Jake's home is also interesting. He set up climbing stairs for the cats, safe outdoor activity spaces, and even a 'cat cinema' that plays nature documentaries 🐱📺 As for diet, it was even more special. Besides dry food, eggs, turkey, and broccoli, records even mention he gave Creme Puff a little... red wine every two days 🍷 However, alcohol is harmful to cats, so please do not imitate this 🤣 There's no answer yet as to why both cats lived so long, but one thing is certain— This owner was truly dedicated to serving his feline masters 🐱

Getting to Know the Incredible Ostrich
The ostrich is the largest and fastest-running bird species alive today, primarily found in the arid savannas and desert regions of Africa. An adult ostrich can reach a height of 2.5 meters and weigh up to 150 kilograms. Despite having enormous wings, their flat breastbones lack a keel, rendering them flightless. Instead, they have evolved extremely powerful legs for defense and locomotion. In terms of defense and survival, an ostrich's legs possess terrifying explosive power, reaching speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour. A single stride can cover approximately 3 to 8 meters, and the force of one kick can be fatal, effectively deterring large predators like lions or cheetahs. Furthermore, an ostrich's eyes are about 5 centimeters in diameter, the largest among all terrestrial vertebrates. Combined with their 1-meter-long neck, this gives them excellent long-distance vision across the vast grasslands, allowing them to detect danger early. The most iconic myth about ostriches is that they 'bury their heads in the sand when they encounter danger.' In reality, this is a completely false stereotype. When an ostrich faces an insurmountable threat or needs to incubate eggs, it lays its long neck flat on the ground, blending its grayish-brown plumage with the surrounding environment to lower its profile for an 'invisibility' effect, making it look like its head is buried in the dirt from a distance. PS: Ostrich meat is delicious😏😏

Husband's Mistress
My husband's mistress is pregnant. When I heard the news, I didn't cry or make a scene. I just sat in the living room, staring at the family photo on the wall, lost in thought. Because there's something only I know. My husband is infertile... Years after we got married without children, I secretly had him tested. The doctor said his chances of naturally conceiving were almost zero. Yet, I went on to have two children. I've kept this secret for over a decade. Now, the mistress, belly protruding, comes to my door, proudly saying the baby is my husband's. I almost burst out laughing. If I just show the test results, the mistress is out on the spot. But the next second, a more serious problem suddenly occurred to me. My husband will definitely ask: "Since I'm infertile, whose are these two children at home?" I quietly put the test results back in the drawer. That evening, my husband came home, head bowed, and said: "Wife, I'm sorry, she's pregnant." I was silent for a few seconds, then patted his shoulder. "Honey, promise me one thing." "What is it?" "Let this be the end of it." He froze. "Don't you want to know if the baby is mine?" I looked at the two children upstairs doing their homework, then looked at him. "No." "Why?" I took a deep breath. "This family can't withstand anyone's DNA test." -Shared by a friend-😂😂😂😂

A Librarian Found in the Book Drop? 📚🐱
In January 1988, something very special happened at the Spencer Public Library in Spencer, Iowa, USA. On a cold night, for reasons unknown, someone placed an approximately 8-week-old orange kitten into the library's overnight book drop. The next day, when the librarians opened the book drop— There was a nearly frozen kitten among the books 🐱 After the librarians rescued the kitten, with the approval of the library board and city council, they decided to let it stay and even officially become a staff member of the library! Everyone named him Dewey Readmore Books. 'Dewey' comes from the 'Dewey Decimal System' (a method of classifying books) used by the library, and the latter part of his name sounds like 'Read more books.' A library cat with a perfectly library-themed name 📚 And Dewey truly had his own 'job description'! He would greet visitors, keep everyone company, and occasionally ride around on a book cart, gradually becoming the library's mascot. Later, people even traveled from afar just to see him. Dewey appeared in newspapers, on TV, and in documentaries, with his fame spreading overseas. He lived at the library for nearly 19 years. From a kitten left in a book drop on a cold winter night, he eventually became a world-famous library cat. You could say this job truly fell from the sky... no, it fell from the book drop 🐱📚

Why Do Onions Make You Cry??
Decoding the Kitchen's Tear-Jerking Chemical Formula Ever get teary-eyed every time you chop an onion? This is actually a clever defense mechanism that onions evolved to protect themselves from animals in the wild. When you cut through an onion's cell walls with a knife, the alliinase and amino acid sulfoxides, which were previously separated inside the cells, instantly mix. This triggers a chemical reaction, releasing volatile hydrogen sulfide gas. Once this gas comes into contact with the moisture on the surface of your eyes, it converts into a small amount of sulfuric acid. To protect your eyes from the irritation, your brain immediately sends signals to your tear glands, prompting a large secretion of tears to wash away the irritant. If you want to avoid this 'silent crying' next time, try chilling the onion in the refrigerator for a while. The low temperature can effectively slow down the chemical reaction, preventing you from watering up while prepping your ingredients!
